i am posting this bollocks early … i have checked all the new music friday (oz), new music monday (brit), and new music tuesday (us) stuff … so what’s your problem … leave me the fuck alone

sometimes i write things like “streamed the whole thing” or “listened to the whole thing”, and sometimes i don’t mean it literally … sometimes i mean the adhd version (meaning i listened to every song, but maybe only a few seconds of each) … just fyi … so don’t take me too literally … or do … you have been given appropriate disclosure … now it’s on you

yes, i am in the greater boston area … no, i did not see tove lo flash the crowd … i apologize for even commenting on it … and no i don’t buy that it somehow empowers women … surely she could come up with something better than flashing

i hope the rumors are true that we can look forward to a new social distortion release in 2016 … though the rumors seem to emanate from germany, so who knows

Grandpa’s Alkaline Trio Music … May 2015

Preamble

This is not a setlist. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you it’s not a setlist without including the word “setlist” but, if it’s a setlist you’re after, you in the wrong place.

This is also not a critical review. In fact, it’s not a fucking review at all, critical or otherwise. So if you’re looking for a review of the Boston stop on Alkaline Trio’s Past Live tour, stop wasting your time on this BS.

No attempt at objectivity here. I’m a big Alkaline Trio fan, and all I’m doing here is collecting a bunch of photos and videos and a handful of twats (see also “tweets”). The quality of some of the media is questionable (read “fucking horrible”) but, since the collection is primarily for ma own self, not you, your opinion=not important.

So if you just somehow stumbled upon this crap and you’re not an Alkaline Trio fan, #sux2bu. Buh-bye.

Everything is more or less in sequence, starting Wednesday May 13th and running thru Saturday May 16th 2015, all four days, spectacular, spectacular performances from the best band out there … no disrespect to Matt’s other bands or to Dan’s or Derek’s other projects … Alkaline Trio.

I must say thank you to Alkaline Trio. Four straight days has to be fucking exhausting … and they’re doing it month after month after month going city to city … and without their performance losing any energy at all. Spectacular.

These guys have kicked ass everywhere i’ve seen them and every time i’ve seen them and this stop in boston was no exception. Night after night, song after song, they knocked it out of the park.

Been very busy, and under the weather, and enjoying four straight days of Alkaline Trio … and those things in combination are why I’m a little behind on my musical happenings research, and why this crap is late

The boys are back in town

Very sad news about B. B. King … I know it seems like a stretch … and I know you think your parents and grandparents sound stupid when they say things like this … but the music I like is a direct (if distant) descendant of the stuff he brought us … that’s the troof, troof

Asking Alexandria have apparently announced some live dates in May and June, before they’ve even announced who is replacing Danny … I won’t comment on the rumors but this could be very exciting stuff

Grandpa complains too much … I have a corporate gig, and it kept me much too busy this week to focus as much as I wanted to on music
