exciting pop punk news this week … player vs player has released a new EP … ok, it’s six songs from 2019 plus one song from 2020, all released as a new EP … and it’s still more exciting than the blink-182 news … everybody please stop losing your shit … thank you

minutes after I posted last week’s nonsense (from barcelona airport), I learned of the cancelation of massachusetts is for lovers … completely devastated that I won’t get to see #AlkalineTrio this year … really, REALLY not happy

and then I discovered that I have fucking covid, so I couldn’t have gone anyway, but somehow that didn’t make me feel a whole lot better about it

anyway, in my airport rush (they were coming to the end of boarding), I didn’t tell you last week about the upcoming dancing through the end of days by dead alright (so it’s included this week) or about the release of when the band breaks up again by walter etc (not quite my sweetspot, but I know some of you are into them)

other than that, and the fact that I still feel like covid shit, I hope this week’s bollocks is at least more like grandpa’s usual bullshit

for the record, though, and even with the subsequent #AlkalineTrio disappointment and covid plague, Barcelona is the most amazing city I have ever visited and, if you ever have the opportunity to go, you should jump at the chance … Valencia, also awesome, fyi … they have the holy grail there, you know … ok, no, clearly they don’t, cos there’s no such thing but, if you take facts out of the equation, it’s right there, in Valencia … I wonder if the Valencia tourist board will pay me for this … that’s it … back the money truck up, fellas

ok, ok, yes, there was that blink-182 announcement … not ignoring it … one more time (the album) will be out oct-20th … one more time (the single) will be out tmro (sep-21st)

still on the fence about the dwarves … sonically, they can produce some interesting stuff, but their artwork has always turned me off … yeah, even me, a cis-het objectifier from way back … I haven’t [yet?] put it in my release calendar, but concept album is out nov-17th, just fyi

I still refuse to accept that disco punk is a thing … it’s not … it just can’t be … but this is kinda cool … whatever it is … which can’t be disco punk … cos there’s no such thing … btw, that weird language on the A&E sign is probably welsh, so I’m guessing the ladies in stickman might be too

I know you’ll think this is odd and completely out of nowhere, but this is actually very cool news for grandpa … gold star for john waters
